According to Nintendo’s E3 Pikmin 3 page, it has been officially confirmed that all of the previous five types of Pikmin will appear in the game, including Purples and Whites, in addition to the new Rock Pikmin. Here’s the quote direct from Nintendo’s site:
“In addition to the five original types of Pikmin encountered in previous games, the new Rock Pikmin bring powerful new abilities and are able to crack hard outer shells of enemies and break through solid barriers.”
For all those who were worrying Nintendo nixed the Purples and Whites, you may fear no longer!
Nothing is known about the elusive flying pink Pikmin…
Many people have commented about the flying pink Pikmin seen momentarily in the trailer. It is definitely there and it definitely has a leaf on its head so it’s assumed to be a Pikmin. What its doing there, we don’t know…. none of the official Pikmin info from Nintendo even hint at an additional Pikmin type besides the Rocks. Maybe Mr. Miyamoto will speak about it at the developer round table?
Ladies and gentlemen, we are now one week away from the start of E3 and Nintendo’s E3 Press Conference where we should get our first look at Pikmin 3.
Is everyone as excited as I am?!
Welcome to the newly created Pikmin 3 News blog, brought to you by the creator of the Pikmin 3 Facebook fan page.
This blog was created in order to better serve us Pikmin fans with all the recent news about Nintendo’s upcoming game “Pikmin 3” for the Wii U.
All news from here on out will be posted on here and then linked to on the Facebook page to allow longer posts and easier discussions in the comments section.
But to bring you up-to-date, Pikmin 3 has been in the works for some time now. It was originally going to be released for the Wii, but it was announced at E3 last year that production has been moved to the Wii U. Shigero Miyamoto has stated that he is working on the game and it is expected to be released within the Wii U’s launch period, IF not one of Nintendo’s first party launch titles!!
You can expect more details to surface at Nintendo’s E3 2012 Press Conference on July 5th, 2012 at 9 AM PST, where we should get our first look at the game, as well more details on the actual console itself.
As news will inevitably become pouring in very soon, I’ll try my best to keep you all updated on anything Pikmin related.
